Uber

Designing a global email campaign for product launch

Role: Senior Designer

Project type: Email marketing campaign & Global toolkit design system

I led the design and execution of an email marketing campaign to support the launch of a new Uber product in an untapped global market.

Focusing on generating excitement, driving user engagement, and boosting conversions, I crafted a campaign that effectively communicated the product’s value while staying true to Uber’s brand identity. The result? A visually compelling, high-impact campaign that not only maintained brand consistency but also drove significant user action and engagement.

Project objectives

Generate buzz

Create excitement and anticipation around the new Uber product among users in the new global location.

Drive engagement

Encourage users to explore and engage with the new product.

Brand consistency

Ensure that all email designs adhere to Uber's brand guidelines for a cohesive and recognisable look.

Increase conversion

Persuade recipients to take a desired action, such as signing up or trying out the new service.

Summary

The project faced several challenges, including ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (supporting both light and dark modes), adapting designs to resonate with local cultural nuances while maintaining a global brand image, standing out in a highly competitive market, and addressing data privacy concerns in line with local regulations.

My role was to craft an impactful email marketing campaign that not only introduced Uber’s new product to a global audience but also left a lasting impression through design excellence, user engagement, and brand consistency.
